The situation The Unite union (formerly the Transport & General Workers Union) required a recruitment film which educated foreign migrant workers on the benefits of joining a union which was committed to fighting for their working rights on a national as well as global scale.
The project After determining their goals for the film, we arranged for the Unite project team to undergo some basic film training with an experienced cameraman so that they could go out to union activists and interview them in their places of work. To do this required some detailed planning, and we worked closely with the team to work out a structure and theme for the eventual film, which we would eventually edit into a DVD version and a version suitable for distribution via mobile phone and internet.
The result Filming for the DVD is currently well under way and the Unite team have expanded their film skills hugely since the project began.
